Donegal TD criticizes decision not to provide fuel supports to fishermen



A Donegal TD has slammed the Minister for Agriculture over his decision not to provide fuel supports to fishermen.

Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle, has strongly hit out at the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, fellow Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue for failing to support fishermen with fuel subsidies.

Deputy Pringle claims “The minister’s excuse is that fuel for fishing vessels is exempt from tax, and as a result he can’t introduce a subsidy on it, which the independent TD says is a nonsensical argument
