Local call for clarity over protection status of Ukrainian refugees



A Sligo Councillor is calling for clarity over the protection status of Ukrainians who are currently living in Ireland.

 

It’s understood that currently, the temporary status is set to expire in March of 2023.

 

This also means that Ukrainians in Ireland are unable to secure long term employment contracts.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Gerard Mullaney believes that every opportunity should be afforded to Ukrainian people who have arrived in Ireland as a result of the war:
