A Leitrim Cllr is warning that the Government must give a cast iron guarantee against energy blackouts in the future if all the planned data centres are to go ahead.
It follows news that there could be almost 150 such centres in Ireland if all approved projects and those looking for planning permission proceed.
Research by UCC energy experts has warned power demand capacity will triple if the 146 centres are completed.
