Concern over level of services available to local young people with disabilities



Serious concern has been raised again over the level of services currently available to children and young people with special needs.

 

Donegal Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty has claimed that thousands of children in the country are being failed, with some parents waiting over a year for services.

 

Deputy Doherty raised the issue in the Dail with Finance Minister Pascal Donohoe.

 

He made reference to one local child Harry, who is facing challenges with attending school because of the ongoing issues.

 

While responding, Minister Donohoe pledged to make enquiries into the case to see what can be done:
