Additional rail service set to benefit areas of West and South Sligo



A Sligo councillor says the introduction of an additional rail service between Ballina and Dublin will benefit areas of West and south Sligo.

 

A new early morning train service between Ballina and Dublin will commence on Monday week, December 12.

 

The service will depart from Ballina at 5.05am and will arrive in Heuston Station, Dublin just after 8.30am.

 

Irish Rail recently introduced weekly service between Waterford Port and Ballina for the transportation of freight.

 

Cllr Paul Taylor says the provision of more services like this will help attract people to relocate to areas such as West and South Sligo:
