Sligo’s Keelan Kilrehill on Ireland team for Euro Cross Country Championships



Dromore West’s Keelan Kilrehill is on the Ireland team for next month’s European Cross Country Championships in Italy.

Kilrehill, who finished sixth in last Sunday’s national senior championships in Donegal last weekend, won European team gold with the junior men’s team at last year’s European’s in Dublin.

The DCU graduate competes nationally in the singlet of Moy Valley Athletic Club, Ballina.

He, along with training mate Darragh McElhinney, are again on the Irish team to defend their title in Turin on December the 11th.

 

Kilrehill is coached by Sligoman Emmet Dunleavy who has four athletes on the Ireland team for Italy – Leterkenny’s Anne Marie Glynn and Danielle Donegan from UCD are also going.

Two Finn Valley AC athletes have also been picked: Roisín Flanagan IS on the senior women’s team along with Letterkenny’s McGlynn, while Sean McGinley in the men’s under 20 race.

The 2022 European Cross Country Championships take place on Sunday, December 11th, in Turin.
