Chris O’Donnell’s track exploits with the Ireland 4 x 400 metres mixed relay team helped earn them the Team of the Year accolade at Thursday’s National Athletcis Awards in Santry.
The North Sligo Athletic Club athlete anchored the quartet to another global final at this year’s World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
This achievement was off the back of their Tokyo Olympic final appearance in 2021.
Letterkenny’s Catriona Jennings was a winner too – as she was named Endurance Athlete of the Year for her third place in finish at the 100km World Championships in Berlin last August.
Ciara Mageean double silver medal success at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships saw the Portaferry woman named Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
