Concerns raised by Sligo Leitrim TD over accommodation for Ukrainian refugees



A Sligo Leitrim TD has raised concern over a plan by Government to provide accommodation to Ukrainian refugees going forward.

It’s one of a number of measures which have been announced in a bid to move from a crisis response to a “more mainstream approach”.

However it has led to fear that it will result in hotels being given a lower rate, leading to some opting out of the scheme.

Currently, it’s estimated that there are almost 5,700 refugees living in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
