Dense fog leading to dangerous driving conditions across the north west



The difficult driving conditions in the North West has led to a number of road traffic collisions this morning.

Met Eireann has issued a nationwide Status Yellow warning for fog.

It’s advising of difficult travel conditions this morning with dense fog affecting visibility.

The weather warning is due to end at 10 a.m.

Gardaí in Sligo and Ballymote are currently dealing with two separate road traffic collisions, at the Summerhill Roundabout in Sligo and in Castlebaldwin.

It’s understood that a number of vehicles were involved in both incidents.

There are no reports of serious injuries, however traffic delays are being experienced as a result of both collisions and Gardai are asking motorists to proceed with caution on the regions roads.
