Donegal TD accuses Government of ‘steamrolling’ legislation through Dail



A Donegal TD has once again accused the Government of ‘steamrolling’ hate crime legislation through the Dail.

 

Justice Minister Helen McEntee has published the full Bill which aims to update laws criminalising hate speech and legislate against hate crimes for the first time in Irish law.

 

It’s expected that the new legislation will become law by years end.

 

But speaking in the Dail, Independent TD Thomas Pringle says the Bill will fly through all stages at rapid fire giving little to no time for discussion on the matter, and that he says, is deeply concerning:
