Housing Minister to meet with Donegal County Council CEO on Mica Scheme



The Housing Minister has revealed that he is to meet with the CEO of Donegal County Council tomorrow for a discussion on the Defective Blocks Redress Scheme.

 

Minister Darragh O’Brien was responding to questions from Donegal TD Padraig MacLochlainn who highlighted the need for urgent alternative accommodation so Mica affected homeowners can vacate their house while it is undergoing a rebuild or repairs.

 

There’s ongoing concern that the current rental crisis and general lack of housing in the North West will leave those affected by Mica unable to progress through the scheme.

 

But Minister O’Brien iterated that he’s eager to see the scheme progress and hopes tomorrow’s meeting with CEO John McLaughlin will be constructive in this regard:
