Fears over policing levels in North West following ‘collapse’ in Garda recruitment



There are fears that policing levels in the North West and elsewhere may become compromised over what’s been described as a collapse in Garda recruitment.

 

It comes as the Justice Minister Helen McEntee confirmed that just over 90 recruits will have entered the college in Templemore for the whole of 2022.

 

This is despite more than 11,000 people applying for the latest Garda recruitment campaign earlier this year.
