Questions asked locally over outstanding pledges of accommodation for refugees



Questions are being asked locally over outstanding pledges of accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.

 

The issue was raised in the Dail this afternoon by Independent TD Marian Harkin who says there are number of people in the North West who are not getting a sufficient level of engagement after offering accommodation for those fleeing the war in Ukraine.

 

This is despite those in question being Garda vetted and having gone through the various stages in order to be deemed suitable.

 

Deputy Harkin asked Tánaiste what body should people contact in order to see the matter resolved while responding, Leo Varadkar acknowledged that efforts must be intensified:
