A Midlands North West MEP alternative suppliers must be found to combat the spiralling cost of fertiliser prices.

 

Irish farmers are looking to the European Parliament today to see what can be done about the issue.

 

MEPs will debate the issue this morning with warnings that some countries may experience severe food shortages unless action is taken.

 

The fertiliser industry has been hugely affected by the war in Ukraine and vital supplies are now three and a half times more expensive than they were at the beginning of the year.
