National Surfing Championships come to Bundoran this weekend

The Irish National Surfing Championships make a welcome return to the Peak in Bundoran this weekend (October 1st & 2nd) after a two-year gap.
The event had been cancelled since 2019 because of the pandemic.
Westport’s Rory Tuohy and Una Britton, Rossnowlagh, were crowned Irish Men’s and Irish Women’s Surfing Champions when the event was last held in September 2019.
Surfers from across Ireland are expected to attend the Championships to compete for titles in Surf Women & Men, Longboard Women & Men, Masters +35 Women & Men, Masters +50 Women & Men, SUP, Bodyboard and Kneeboard.
Among the competitors will be Irish team members Gearoid McDaid (Sligo), Iarom Madden (Donegal Bay Board Riders), Tom Breen, Maia Monaghan (Rossnowlagh), Una Britton (Rossnowlagh) and Holly Widger, who have all returned this week from the World Surfing Games at Huntington Beach, California.
