Efforts being made to alleviate pressures in Sligo University Hospital – Tánaiste



The Tánaiste says efforts are being made to alleviate ongoing pressures in Sligo University Hospital.

 

Earlier this week, the INMO  called for an urgent inspection of Sligo University Hospital by the Health and Safety Authority in response to what has been described as increased overcrowding and safety issues.

 

The issue was raised by Independent TD Marian Harkin who reiterated claims that Sligo University Hospital is the worst hit in terms of overcrowding nationwide and immediate action is needed.

 

Speaking in the Dail in the last few minutes, Leo Varadkar says the HSE is preparing its winter plan which will include bespoke local plans which will in turn assist Sligo:
