Caroline Currid leaves Munster rugby role

Munster Rugby has confirmed that Sligo’s Caroline Currid has left her role as performance psychologist with the province.

The north Sligo native joined Munster on a consultancy basis under former head coach Johann van Graan for the start of last season but it’s emerged that Currid decided to end her time with the province at the end of the season just past.

Another Sligo native, Cathal Sheridan, who’s a also a former Munster player, has since been installed as Munster’s sport and performance psychologist.

Currid was a regular presence in the Munster dugout last season and her contributions drew plenty of praise from several team members.

It’s understood it was her own decision to end her tenure with Munster.

News of her departure comes as Munster are enduring a difficult start to the new rugby season having lost their opening two United Rugby Championship games.
