Strike action to take place in Donegal over funding concerns in voluntary & community sectors

Two days of rolling strike action planned for community and voluntary sector bodies in a number of counties including Donegal will begin today in a dispute over pay.

Disability and other services will be impacted by the action.

The strike action will also take place in Galway, Mayo and Cork.

Unions say urgent Government action is needed to address the funding of organisations in the sector.

SIPTU official Adrian Kane is calling for pay improvements for staff who have not received a pay increase since 2008.
