More information needed for bank account switches, according to Sligo Leitrim TD



A Sligo Leitrim TD says not enough is being done to provide people with information that are switching accounts from banks that are exiting the Irish market.

 

The Banking & Payments Federation of Ireland are holding meetings today with relevant regulators and critical service providers.

 

The meeting will provide an update on the work being undertaken by the sector to manage the migration of personal and business bank accounts ahead of the departure of Ulster Bank and KBC.

 

Sligo Leitrim independent TD Marian Harkin says while some customers have switched accounts they have yet to set up new direct debit payments for many services:
