A Donegal TD has issued a further warning that the Marine Ministers €60m decommissioning scheme is effectively waving a white flag of surrender.
The plans, which include to cut the Irish whitefish fleet by over 30%, have been met with concern by Irish Fish Producers who say that it will not preserve fish stocks in Irish waters.
It’s further claimed that the scheme will leave stocks available to European vessels to fish instead.
