Students struggling to secure school bus tickets in Coola

With schools due to reopen in the coming weeks the annual challenge of securing bus tickets for children attending Primary and Post Primary schools is proving to be a major one for many parents.

The situation is reported to be extremely serious throughout Sligo with many parents struggling to secure tickets for their children.

Ballymote Tubbercurry Councillor, Gerard Mullaney is one of a number of local elected representatives that has raised the issued in recent days.

The Fine Gael Councillor says there is a danger that children that have completed the majority of their secondary school education in Coola Post Primary School could now be forced to enrol in an alternative school due to issues in securing school bus tickets.

Cllr.  Mullaney Says it’s not ideal for Students to have change schools at any stage in their education.
