Local Councillor issued warning in relation to high tides

With high tides being experienced at beaches across the North West over the past few days, a local councillor is urging people to check tide times in relation to parking cars at locations such as Streedagh beach.

Holidaymakers and locals have again reported situations of vehicle owners returning to their cars and finding them submerged in water after being unaware of the high tide.

Sligo Drumcliff Independent Councillor Marie Casserly has been speaking to Ocean fm news, she highlighted the presence of sign posts of tide times at Streedagh beach and wants to remind people to check them to avoid unnecessary vehicle damage
