Glencar/Manor win Leitrim LGFA Division 1 title

A strong second-half display saw Glencar/Manorhamilton senior women’s gaelic footballers clinch the Leitrim Division 1 league title with a 2-14 to 2-10 win over Ballinamore Seán O’Heslin’s at Shane McGettigan Memorial Park, Drumshanbo.

The north Leitrim girls trailed by a point at half-time, 1-6 to 1-5, and Ballinamore might have been further in front had to converted a number of goal chances.

However, Glencar/Manor moved Muireann Devaney to full-forward at half-time and the county champions were a transformed team in the second-half as they scored 2-9 in the second-half to eventually win by four.

Joint-manager Gerry Hickey spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy after the win.

Elsewhere, St Mary’s won the Division 2 final in Kiltubrid with a 4-13 to 2-14 win against Dromahair  – while Dumkeerin are the Division 3 champions after a big victory against Annaduff.
