Government accused of ramming through legislation on Defective Blocks Bill



A Donegal Sinn Fein TD has accused the Government of trying to ram through legislation in the Dáil this evening on the Defective Blocks Bill.

 

The opposition called for nine hours of scrutiny of the Bill to take place this evening and while a Dail vote was called yesterday, the Government won by just five votes, meaning that two hours will be allocated for scrutiny.

 

Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn believes that with over 100 amendments proposed, it’s clear that there are flaws in the scheme and sufficient time should be given to go through the finer detail:
