The CEO of Sligo Chambers of Commerce says that although some aspects of the Summer Economic Statement are to be welcomed he has warned of serious challenges facing businesses in Sligo and the north west.

Chambers of commerce groups from across the County have been reacting to the publication of yesterday’s Summer Economic Statement which provides an indication of what will be included in September’s budget.

When it comes to how the details will benefit local businesses in Sligo Aidan Doyle says the strong emphasis on infrastructure was welcome, however he warned there is some way to go to make up for the lack of investment locally over a sustained period of time.

He also warned that problems which many businesses are experiencing when it comes to  attracting staff is being added to by the lack of housing locally;
