National Bus and Rail Union unhappy with comments on staff absence

The National Bus and Rail Union has expressed its ‘disgust’ at comments made about staff absence.

The chief executive of the National Transport Authority said it’s an at unacceptable level among bus drivers – even post-Covid.

Anne Graham told an Oireachtas committee on Tuesday it’s impacting on services.

Recently bus services linking counties such as Sligo and Donegal to Dublin were cancelled at short notice.  The cancellations resulted in a number of passengers being stranded and missing flights.

NBRU general secretary, Dermot O’Leary, yesterday wrote to National Transport Authority  CEO about the issue – he says drivers are very angry about the comments.
