County Sligo golfers will participate in this week’s Irish Boys’ Close Championship and Irish Girls’ Close Championship at Kilkeel Golf Club in county Down which begins on Tuesday.
For the first time ever, both competitions will take place simultaneously.
In the Boys Close Championship, Luke Harrison and Sean McLoughlin represent County Sligo Golf Club.
County Sligo’s Maebh McLoughlin and Sophie Reynolds will participate in the Girls Close Championship.
The Boys’ and Girls’ Championships are played in the same format.
Participants play 36 holes of stroke play on the opening two days with with the top-16 advancing to the Championship stage.
Four rounds of Matchplay will follow, with both champions being decided in an 18-hole Final on Friday evening.
