An Independent Donegal TD is calling for the legal voting age to be lowered to 16.
Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle presented a Bill to the Dail last night and said that many young people in his constituency have expressed the view that their voices should be heard.
However, the Government did not support forwarding the Bill to the next stage.
