The 8th of June marked the global celebration of world ocean day with over 4000 people from around the country taking part
Charities clean coast and national spring clean have jointed forces to organise 230 cleans.
There was strong participation from the northwest with at least 50 volunteers collecting nearly 200kg of litter from across Sligo and 200 volunteers from Donegal collected over a tonne of litter
Nationally Marine litter collected reached a total of 22.5 tonnes
