Two additional counites expected to added to Mica redress scheme

The Cabinet will sign off on the final Mica redress plan this morning with the counties of Clare and Limerick being added to the scheme.

Adding the two counties to the scheme which already includes Donegal and Mayo will likely add around 500 million euro to the cost, bringing it to an estimated 2.7 billion.

It’s understood the move could bring a further 2,000 homes into the reach of the defective blocks scheme.

Additional counties including Sligo where it’s estimated 200 buildings are affected by the condition will be looking to join the scheme in the coming months.
