A major meeting will be staged later this evening in Ballymote mart to address the rising input costs associated with farming.
The IFA organised event is open to all farmers and will discuss the pressure that rising fuel costs is currently placing on farmers right across the north west.
Fertiliser prices have increased recently and there are already fears that this could lead to a fodder crisis later in the year.
There are major concerns being expressed in relation to what price Feed costs will be like in the months ahead.
The IFA say that similar meetings have already attracted large attendances in Roscommon and Mayo.
Sean Mckeon is the IFA Regional Executive for Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon he says it’s vital that farmers voice their concerns in relation to the challenges that they are currently facing
