Civic Reception held for Sligo’s Connacht U20 champions

Sligo County Council hosted a Civic Reception for Sligo’s under-20 Connacht football championship winning team at a special event in County Hall, Riverside, in Sligo on Monday evening.

The Yeats County won a first-ever provincial title at this grade in April with a dramatic one-point victory over Mayo in the Connacht final at Markievicz Park.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Paul Taylor (himself a former Sligo U20 manager) warmly welcomed current manager Dessi Sloyan, his players and backroom team at Monday evening’s event.

Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan spoke with three of them after the ceremony: team captain Jack Lavin (Ballymote), Oisín Gorman (Bunninadden) and Ciaran McKeon (St Michael’s).
