Gardai issue new safety appeal following June Bank Holiday road carnage



Gardai have issued a new road safety appeal after eight people were killed on the road over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

 

Two brothers, aged in their 70s died in a three car collision in Rathcormac in County Sligo last Sunday.

 

There have now been 79 road deaths since the beginning of the year.

 

Gardaí are encouraging drivers to slow down, be attentive, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
