The Sligo Cultural Companions initiative is being launched today at the Hawks Well theatre.
Cultural Companions is a nationwide initiative designed to bring older community members together to enjoy arts events.
Membership is free and the programme launches today at 1pm.
People are being encouraged to come along and join the programme, especially after the impact of the last few years on this age group.
