Leitrim minors well beaten by Roscommon in Shield final

There was disappointment for Leitrim minor gaelic footballers in Friday evening’s Connacht minor shield final at Dr Hyde Park as Roscommon ran out convincing 4-14 to 1-9 winners.

Adrian Dockery’s side trailed by just two points at half-time (0-10 to 1-5), with Fionn Curley netting the Leitrim goal on 25 minutes.

However, four second-half goals saw Roscommon pull well clear to take the honours.

The Connacht minor football ‘A’ final between Mayo and Galway takes place this bank-holiday Monday evening at McHale Park in Castlebar (7:30pm).
