Dail hears claims British secret service ordered killing of Sinn Féin Cllr



The Dáil has heard claims that British military intelligence directed its agents, including a serving British soldier, to assassinate a Donegal County Councillor 31 years ago.

 

Sinn Féin councillor Eddie Fullerton was shot dead on May 25, 1991, with claims that a subsequent programme of State-sponsored murder was approved at 10 Downing Street.

 

The allegations were made yesterday under Dail privilege by Donegal Sinn Fein TD Pádraig Mac Lochlainn, who told Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney that he may name the person thought to be involved in Cllr Fullerton’s murder in the future if he feel justice is not being served:
