Carbury FC complete league and cup double

Carbury FC are celebrating a Super League and Cup double in Sligo-Leitrim following Saturday night’s 2-1 victory after extra-time against rivals Cartron United in the Glasshouse Hotel Cup final, played at Ray MacSharry Park.

Mark Hannon was Carbury’s matchwinner in 105th minute.

Carbury recently pipped Cartron to the Southern Hotel Super League title – and Saturday night’s victory completed a memorable double for them.

Donal Gallagher’s header put Cartron United in front with fifteen minutes remaining – but Aaron Murrin brought Carbury level moments later from the penalty spot.

Then, in extra-time, up popped Player of the Match Mark Hannon to seal the deal for Carbury.

Team manager John Feeney spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Donal Ryan after the game.
