Mona McSharry to represent Ireland at European Championships



Sligo swimmer Mona McSharry has been selected as part of the Ireland swimming team for August’s LEN European Championships in Rome.

Mona, who is a student at University of Tennessee, is part of an 18-strong Ireland team for the championships which will take place over seven days at the Sette Colli Stadium.

A Coláiste Cholmcille, Ballyshannon alumnus, McSharry will spearhead the team which includes the likes of fellow 2020 Olympians Ellen Walshe and Brendan Hyland.

The championships which are organised by LEN (European Aquatics) will see over 1,500 athletes from over 50 nations take part will take place from the 11th to the 21st of August.
