Sligo Rovers held to 1-1 draw by St Pat’s

Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic drew 1-1 in Saturday night’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game at the Showgrounds.

Aidan Keena gave Rovers a first-half lead on 37 minutes with a fine right-footed finish.

However, Pat’s drew level at the start of the second half when former Rovers player Eoin Doyle set up Darragh Burns for the equaliser.

Rovers remain fifth in the league table on 21 points after Saturday night’s result.

Rovers manager Liam Buckley spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Donal Ryan after the game.

Liam Buckley’s side go to Dalymount Park next Friday to take on Bohemians.

Elsewhere on Saturday, there was disappointment for Sligo Rovers women as they lost 3-2 to DLR Waves in Dublin.

Rovers Donegal duo of Gemma McGuinness and Emma Doherty were both on scoresheet in what was a spirited display but the hosts at the UCD Bowl snatched a winner late on to claim all three points.
