There are calls for more hazardous waste facilities in County Sligo.
Currently there is a facility in Tubercurry however residents in the likes of North Sligo have to make a two hour round trip to avail of it.
The latest sitting of Sligo County Council has heard calls for the local authority to engage with Panda Waste to see if a collection service can be set up.
However the Council says it is faced with funding constraints with regards to moving the proposal forward.
Local Independent Cllr Marie Casserly says there is a big appetite for the service and funding avenues needs to be pursued:
