‘Tension’ in tourist towns over lack of accommodation



Due care and diligence is needed over potentially displacing jobs by housing Ukrainian refugees in North West tourism hotspots.

That’s the view of Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny who was speaking in the Dail on the matter.

 

Deputy Kenny says there is a little bit of tension in some tourist dependent towns and villages over a lack of accommodation which could in turn have an impact on the local economy.

 

He says while there is huge progress in getting the plan right, it’s important to factor businesses in too:
