Leitrim outclassed by Galway



Leitrim senior footballers were no match for Galway in Sunday’ s Connacht SFC semi-final in Salthill as the Tribesman ran out easy 4-20 to 0-9 winners.

Andy Moran’s side were restricted to just four second-half points as Galway took complete control with four second-half goals.

The visitors were more than competitive for the opening 25 minutes of the game – but once Patrick Kelly’s goal went in two minutes after the restart, the dye was cast.

Leitrim introduced their top scorer in the league, Keith Beirne but he was unable to stem the tide despite scoring a couple of fine points.

However, the home side continued to cause havoc in attacked and Eoin Gallagher’s goal added time completed the rout.

Galway now prepare for a Connacht final against Roscommon on Sunday, May 29th at 1.45pm.
