Donegal stroll into women’s Ulster final

Donegal are through to the Ulster LGFA senior football final after a comprehensive 3-19 to 1-11 win against Cavan in Clones on Sunday.

Despite being without the injured Karen Guthrie, Maxi Curran’s side took charge of this contest from the off, with Killybegs’s Suzanne White marking her senior Ulster Championship debut with two first-half goals as she contributed 2-3 of her side’s tally on the day.

Donegal led by 10 points at half-time (2-10 to 0-6) and any hopes of a Cavan revival were extinguished in the second-half when Yvonne Bonner added a third Donegal girl.

They now face Armagh in the Ulster senior football decider.

The Orchard ladies beat Monaghan comprehensively in the semi last weekend – and are bidding for a three-in-a-row of Ulster titles.
