Serious concern has been raised over families in the North West struggling to meet the rising costs of living.
Donegal has seen the highest rise in rent nationwide – a recent Daft.ie report showed that rents increased by 24.3%.
Donegal Independent TD Thomas Pringle says this has resulted in many people calling to his constituency offices in dire situations.
Deputy Pringle has accused both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael of allowing rents to soar over last decade and says something urgently must be done to alleviate the problem:
