Ocean FM scooped the Silver Award in the prestigious International New York Festivals Radio Awards last night.
A feature on hunger striker, Joe McDonnell, produced and presented by Niall Delaney, won Silver in the Best Human Interest Story category.
The feature told the story of Joe McDonnell on the 40th anniversary of his death on hunger strike in the H-Block prison, and of his candidacy in the 1981 General Election in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
The New York Festival showcases the best radio output from countries throughout the world.
It’s the third award for Ocean FM in the New York Festival Awards, having won Gold in 2013 and in 2020.
