Sligo men help UCD win Collingwood Cup

Two Sligo footballers were part of the UCD senior soccer team who won the Collingwood Cup with a 2-1 win over Queen’s in Wednesday’s final played at Oriel Park in Dundalk.

The Collingwood Cup is third-level soccer’s most prestigious competition – and Wednesday’s victory saw UCD lift the cup for the 48th time in their history.

West Sligo’s Gearóid Mulligan and Tubbercurry’s Liam Kerrigan were both part of the UCD winning team.

Gearóid is the elder brother of Sligo under-20 footballer Canice Mulligan who, last week, helped the Yeats County’s gaelic footballers win their first-ever Connacht under-20 title.
