Sligo councillor calls for legislation to deal with empty and semi-derelict buildings



A Sligo councillor says there is an apparent lack of legislation to enable local authorities effectively deal with empty and semi-derelict buildings.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says this is exemplified by the situation involving the Old Mill apartments in Ballisodare.

Cllr Healy adds that the building, which he described as an eyesore in a scenic area along the Wild Atlantic Way, does not seem to fall into the category of either derelict or vacant:
