Anger grows over fishing regulations in Killybegs

The Irish Fish Processors and Exporters Association has confirmed that another fishing vessel was unable to land a cargo of Blue White Premium at the pier in Killybegs over the weekend.

The crew of the locally owned vessel were left with no choice other than to declare the cargo for ‘non- human consumption’.

The decision resulted in 51 workers at a local processing factory having no work over the weekend.

Brendan Byrne CEO of the Irish Fish Processors and Exporters Association says there is growing levels of anger and frustration with the SFPA in Killybegs.
