Donegal advance to Ulster semi-final with Armagh victory

Donegal advanced to the semi-finals of the Ulster Senior Football Championship with a seven-point victory over Armagh at MacCumhaill Park on Sunday afternoon.

St. Naul’s Brendan McCole produced an imperious performance and kept Rian O’Neill scoreless which gave Declan Bonner’s side platform for victory.

The Tír Chonaill men held a three-point lead, nine points to six at the interval which could have been more had they not hit five wides during the first period.

Shane O’Donnell put the margin to four nine minutes into the second half before Kilcar clubman Patrick McBrearty found the back of the net a minute later.

Michael Langan helped himself to two second half points as Donegal must now prepare for an Ulster semi-final with Cavan on Sunday, May 8th.

Ulster Senior Football Championship results:

Donegal 1-16 Armagh 0-12

Antrim 0-10 Cavan 1-20
