A Donegal Councillor fears food rationing may be implemented in the coming months due the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Glenties Councillor, Michael McClafferty made the comments in response to Taoiseach Micheal Martin stating Russian President, Vladimir Putin is ‘potentially creating a famine crisis’ due to attacks on grain silos and Ukraine cannot export wheat.

Councillor McClafferty believes the government need to be proactive instead of reactive to the ongoing crisis

He says rural areas like Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are being impacted more than urban centres.
